Whistler Luxury
Condos Accommodation Rentals For The Whistler Children's
Art Festival
The Whistler Children's Art Festival brings together
emerging and professional artists, artisans and performers
to share their skills with Whistler kids and families.
The goal of the festival is to expose children to a
variety of artistic mediums and work directly with professional
artists, artisans and performers. Workshop facilitators
are primarily local which encourages the development
of relationships between local artists and residents.
Traditionally held in Myrtle Philip Community School,
the Children's Art Festival made a big move to Creekside
in 2005, allowing for the incorporation of street and
stage entertainment, free activities in a more festive
atmosphere.
As well as workshops for kids aged 5 to 11, the Festival
includes a pre-school area for children aged 3-5, intermediate
workshops for kids in grade 7 and 8 and workshops for
the whole family. Workshops run on both days of the
festival.
The Whistler Arts Council is a registered charity established
in 1982 dedicated to building and integrating the arts
into the fabric of Whistler. We produce several annual
events/programs and provide services to artists, residents
and businesses in the community.
Whistler Children's Art Festival hits record numbers!
The 2006 Whistler Children’s Art Festival boasted
the largest turn out of any Festival to date. A record
turnout of over 3,000 people included children and families
